Established Tree Transplanters Pty. Ltd., an Australian owned
family company, was established in 1973 originally for the transplanting
of mature trees to new suburban gardens in Melbourne. These trees
were selected from nurseries in the Dandenongs and old established
gardens. During the early stages of the company the trees were
all dug by hand and the lifting and moving was achieved with
the use of Newman Tree Moving frames and trailers. This process
allowed one tree at a time to be relocated. With improvements
three Newman trailers could be attached together to move three
trees at any one time.
After 12 months of operation, the demand for mature trees led
ETT to establish its first nursery on 3 acres of leased land,
growing selected species suitable for street tree planting.
Over the years ETT has expanded the tree growing operation with
200 hectares of trees under production and over 50,000 advanced
trees for sale at any one time. The tree range covers ornamental,
deciduous and evergreen trees both balled and burlapped or containerised,
and containerised natives and palms.
Today trees are dug out of the ground with mechanical tree spades
and shipped Australiawide on semi-trailers equipped with cranes,
100 (3.5M) trees per load. |
