Established Tree Transplanters  is one of the key contractors involved in “Victoria’s Big Build” which is part of the new Metro Tunnel Project. A vital part of this project is the opening in 2025, of the new Anzac Station which will significantly improve access to the St Kilda Road precinct and key Melbourne landmarks.

Already the first few trees are at the location – Ulmus sapporo – Autumn Gold Dutch Elm. This delivery is the start of where the landscape for the tunnel station appears onto St Kilda Road.

Ulmus ‘Sapporo Autumn Gold’ was selected because of its resistance to Dutch Elm Disease (currently not in Australia) and since being planted in Australia has proven to survive and do well in many of the tough urban environments.

The Anzac Station project will continue into next year with more trees planned to be installed in mid-2024. All the trees are currently 4.8m tall and will add scale to the project.

One of the Project’s key features is “Greening the area”, which involves increasing the overall tree canopy coverage at the station’s precinct, with new trees planted on St Kilda Road and in the surrounding area. The tram platform will also feature trees and dense, low-height landscaping.
